Summer in Montreal - I can't wait!!!

I am so glad that I was lucky enough to land a good job in Montreal for this summer. With all the festivals and activities going on, there's no way that I want to miss on the summer in this city.

For one, there's the Mondial de la bière, a fun beer festival that I found out about two years ago and started attending last year. After getting pissed drunk trying to drink every brand of beer there all in one day, I came to the realization that I had to visit that place at least three days in a row. This year, if anyone's interested the festival will go from Wednesday May 31st to Sunday June 4th. I'll probably go on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights because I have to work early in the morning during the week. Let's just hope that it won't be on the same weekend as my karate exam.

Speaking of which, I am also going to be spending most of the first month of this summer preparing for that exam. I had set up a "strict training and dietary regimen", but I unfortunately injured my toe, thus preventing me from training and jogging for at least a week. Oh well, I'll have to ride my bike instead to compensate for the much-needed cardio training.

As far as bike riding is concerned, I will continue to explore where the bike paths can take me throughout the summer. I'm even thinking about participating in the Tour de l'Ile on June 4th, but again, I'm hoping that it won't conflict with my karate exam schedule.

Of course, you'll probably expect to find me hanging out and riding my bike in the Old Port of Montreal and the Lachine Canal bike path throughout the summer, especially during L'International des Feux Loto-Québec fireworks competition starting on June 17 to July 29. It's funny, I watch this every year and I never find out who wins every year.

Finally, the festival that I always look forward to is the Fantasia Film Festival. This will be starting on July 6 to July 24th. I guess it's the movie geek in me crying out for fun cinema.

I can't wait. In fact what am I doing sitting here in front of the computer? The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and I should be jumping on my bike today! Enjoy your summer everyone and let me know if any of you are interested in joining me in these summer activities.
